Northern Nursing Privacy Policy

It is the practice of Northern Nursing to comply with the National Privacy Principles as set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (C’th). At Northern Nursing we value our professional relationships with our clients, staff, prospective employees and all other individuals we have dealings with. We take reasonable steps to ascertain the extent to which information we collect may be confidential.

We only collect and hold personal information about an individual for the purpose of performing normal day to day functions and activities that best serve our clients, applicants, staff and prospective employees. Personal information is only collected by lawful and fair means. We do not collect personal information just because we think it might be useful at some time in the future if we have no present need for it.

We only use and disclose the information we collect as we require for the management of business, staff, clients and management of prospective employees. We may disclose information if it is deemed to be important for the individual and or a serious threat to public health and public safety. We may also disclose your personal information where we are under a legal obligation to do so.

We take all reasonable steps to protect all personal information held from misuse, loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. When personal information is no longer required all documents are destroyed by a security company and we are provided with a document destruction certificate.

We as an organisation set out in the policy, procedure and quality manuals the management of personal information. On written request by a prospective client or employee this document is made available.

We as an organisation do not use or disclose personal information unless we are confident that it is accurate, complete and current. Clients and employees can assist us to maintain accurate personal details by notifying us of any changes.

When making general enquiries where it is lawful and practicable, individuals have the option of not identifying themselves.

We will only disclose information to a foreign jurisdiction in the normal course of business and only with the consent of the individual concerned. The recipient of such information must be bound by laws that uphold the handling of information. We cannot guarantee that any recipient of your personal information will protect it to the standard that it ought to be protected.

We only collect and store sensitive information with the permission of the individual or organisation to which the information relates. Sensitive information will only be sought if it is required for the recruitment and placement process.

Your personal information is not used for direct marketing purposes.

We do not use any identifiers for personal information other than the name and contact details of the person or organisation to which the information applies.

We take all reasonable steps to ensure that our service suppliers are bound by obligations to protect the privacy of your information and that they will not do anything to cause us to breach those obligations.
